2014 Holiday Homecoming Schedule of Events


Friday, November 28

Lighting of the Lights on the 1st Street Plaza    5:00pm         

Experience the wonder of the season as Mayor Rogina illuminates the city and officially kicks-off the holidays in St. Charles.  There will be a special performance by the St. Charles East and North High Schools’ Chorales, as well as an appearance by Santa.  Be there as Santa opens his house for the first time this season.

Find Swan's Christmas Trees along the river through the holiday season. These trees fill Downtown St. Charles with an amazing scent and scenic holiday view along the river.

Tree Lots Hours:

Monday through Friday- 12-8pm
Saturdays- 9am-9pm

FREE Holiday Movies at the Arcada Theatre: The Polar Express- 10:30am                          

Bring the family to the historic Arcada Theatre to watch a holiday movie favorite.  Seating begins at 9:30am.




Free Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides on First St. Plaza - 1-3:30pm    

Take a ride on a horse drawn sleigh, and take a ride back in time.  Enjoy the splendor of St. Charles, as you escape the hustle and bustle of the holidays on this leisurely ride.

Be sure to stop by Santa’s House for a visit while he’s in town from the North Pole.  He’ll be back every weekend through December 21.  Be sure to bring your list and your camera!





 Electric Christmas Parade- 5:30 p.m.
On Main Street – between 6th Street and 4th Avenue

Don’t miss this spectacular, fully illuminated parade down Main Street.  You are sure to be in awe as the city lights are turned off and the lighted floats make their way along the scenic backdrop of Downtown St. Charles. Click here to see part of last years parade!
